STAR SAISON
For my senior thesis, I focused on making clothing production accessible to beginner artists.
As an apparel designer, understanding tech packs is essential. They provide detailed instructions for measurements related to custom prints and garments. While using a tech pack is a great first step for mass production, they can be expensive and, if poorly executed, ineffective. I experienced this frustration when I started designing at 19, a college freshman with limited funds.
Four years later, I aimed to help those in similar situations. Drawing from my experience with tech packs, I created a free resource for others to use and practice with. I also designed a small clothing collection to demonstrate its functionality. Below are the initial sketches, samples, and excerpts from the tech pack and vectors.

The “Astronaut Tee” was meant to be a simple graphic tee with a DTG print that alluded to the brand name “Dawn” with space-like imagery.
The “Invitation Tee” was given to guests as an invitation. Inspired by a Japanese fashion editorial from the early 2000s, the marbling on the tee reflects the crumpled paper of the original invitation that was scanned.
The “Star Saison Hoodie” was designed to fill the gap for a graphic sweatshirt, an essential element of modern communication. I aimed to create a collegiate-style hoodie with added details to differentiate from the inspiration. After experimenting with various options, I chose the durable Independent 5000 blank for its high GSM.
.The “Triangle Pants” stemmed from my strong and somewhat obnoxious desire for a pair of pants to match my Tabi boots. I admired the seam running from the big toe to the top of the boot and wanted to incorporate that design element into an outfit. I created pleated suit pants featuring an isosceles triangle cut at the end of each pleat to showcase the boot's upper.
